Ge Refrigerator Water Dispenser Keeps Freezing. It seems there is an issue with the insulation inside the door taking on too much moisture so it doesn’t insulate the line well enough to keep it from freezing. If your ge fridge water dispenser is not working, you have to check if the water line is switched on, be sure that the tube connecting it to the fridge isn’t frozen, replace the supply valve of the water tank, lower the internal temperature of your refrigerator or replace vinyl tubing as possible.
I think the extra smaller tubing acts as an extra insulator preventing the water line freeze. Adjusting the freezer temperature and ensuring that the water line is clear should correct the problem. My fisher paykal refrigerator model # xxxxx keeps freezing everything in the fridge.

I Read On This Site That Others Have Used Part #Wr49X10173 (Water Line Heater) To Remedy Frequently Freezing Water Lines For The Dispenser.
I would like to use the coldest settings. Locate the damper control assembly in your fridge and use a screwdriver to loosen all screws attaching it to the fridge. Press the dispenser cradle for at least 5 minutes to purge any air from the water lines.

The plastic tubing is just a bit smaller than the diameter of the dispenser water tube. Possible heater strip and fuse located where the water line enters to keep it from freezing. Adjusting the freezer temperature and ensuring that the water line is clear should correct the problem.
Check The Valve With A Voltmeter To See If It’s Working.
First for good water flow check the water line connected to the back of the refrigerator. When i first got it i left the freezer at the coldest setting(9) without any problem. There should be a green light that blinks, once it has reset.
